Human trafficking is a serious problem and so MTV Exit Asia commissioned a series of one minute spots highlighting the issue for their MTV Exit project.
Director Mina Song went to the Philippines and used a local crew to film the videos that were created in both Tagalog and English versions.
The videos took the form of mock information films created by the ITA (International Traffickers Association), originally shot on 16mm film, transferred to VHS video and finally encoded on VideoCD. The spots took a little bit of analogue and digital degradation from each conversion to end up with a colourful and humorous look at a very important issue.
